I am a self-taught painter based in Ayr, Scotland. I started painting in the summer of 2015 after a long period of writers block left me with no creative outlet. I taught myself technique by painting landscapes repeatedly for the first nine months. Then I began to work on self-portraits, which allowed me to explore the more comical side of painting. I do not focus on the same topic or style for too long as it is not conducive to my creativity, and I value the idea above technique. My inspirations are the Pop Art movement, Ayrshire Legend Roddy McKenzie, Ralph Steadman, and Bill Kaysing.
